Best Electric Guitar

Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray, Eddie Van. If you know anything about guitars you know that these are some of the all-time legendary electric guitar players who will probably make you rush to a music store to get an electric guitar of your own. Well, you may not turn out to be Stevie but it will be one more skill you can boast about to your buddies. So here are a few tips to help you buy the best electric guitar.

Do not fall for the good looks. First impressions matter but before settling for one, hit the chords and keenly listen to the tone of the guitar. Hollow body guitars like single coil P-90 pickup produce a “bell” like warm jazzy tone, while humbucker pickups give a crunch feel to the music. You should also look into the type of wood used. Low cost wood such as basswood and alder give brighter tones whereas more expensive woods such as mahogany gives richer, warmer tone.

The good thing about guitars is that you can always find something that knows your pocket just right. If you look in the right place you can easily get an electric guitar that is as cheap as $120 but you can also get one as high as $7000. As a beginner, you do not need a flashy, high-priced instrument especially if you barely know the basic chords; it simply beats logic.

You also do not really need a new piece; you can always save up to $300 if you decide to buy a used guitar. Of course there is the obvious risk of it being in a less than perfect state. But if you can find a $400 Epiphone for $100, it may just be the best electric guitar for you.

Finally, the last thing that you should consider, the appearance. After crossing out all the above factors, you can now determine how cool you want to look holding your guitar. As long as it feels good and sounds majestic, you can either decide to compromise on how it looks or find something as close to your taste as possible.

As a heads up before starting your guitar lessons, you should know that the most important thing is to give yourself time. Acclaimed musicians are acclaimed because of practicing the art for decades and decades so cut yourself some slack and be patient. You will not be able to produce the chainsaw tone or the harmonic tone for a while but you will get there; as long as you get the best electric guitar.
